ABOUT THE MAN THEY CALL SWAMP BEAR...

Born and raised near the Great Lakes, I moved West across Canada to explore and experience it's natural beauty and wonders.  As a graduate of Parks and Forest Recreation followed by a degree in Tourism Management, I have experienced a wide variety of jobs, people, and places.  There's been dogsled guiding in the mountains, canoeing instructing in northern Saskatchewan, zipline guiding the coast of Bc, Snowboard instructing from Newfundland to Alberta, working fishing boats of the Pacific Ocean, and a variety of laboring jobs.  Through every path I've taken, I have always stayed very close to nature and art: it has been my inspiration and light. The Coasts and the rest of Canada has shared so much with me and I am forever grateful to be a born and raised Canadian.

Considered an artist all my life by my peers I played and experimented with many crafts and art-forms before discovering the art of chainsaw carving at the age of 29.  In 2012 I decided this was it and that an artist was who I am and always have been, Swamp Bear Art was established and the rest is history.  The art form is constantly evolving like all others and continues to challenge and inspire me.  I strive to find improvement and opportunity in everything I do.  To me true art tells a story and expresses feeling and emotion.

I have achieved many goals as a sculptor winning awards in both wood and ice both on national and international levels.  I aspire to continue growing as an artist and creator.

You can find me on the hit tv chainsaw carving series A Cut Above where I was a contender amongst 12 top artists from around the globe.

I aspire to take on whatever challenges big or small that come my way as I persist my life as a Professional Canadian Chainsaw Artist.   It's a life long journey I look forward to sharing with you.
